Happy May! I spent a large portion of my Sunday last weekend chilling and creating these springy May spreads in my bujo, and I can’t wait to share them with you all.
My cover page this month is a simple circle with the name of the month and some butterfly doodles. I wasn’t planning on a butterfly theme for May, but I ended up just sort of doodling some on this page, so I decided to continue them throughout my monthly pages.
As usual, my monthly spread includes a calendar for the month and a sidebar for priorities and tasks.
I’m continuing to use this vertical habit tracker layout. It works very similarly to a horizontal tracker, but I like that I don’t have to turn my journal to check off my habits.
(I haven’t yet written in the habits—I’ll write those at the tops of the columns later.)
I absolutely love this highlights page. It pushes me to reflect on something good that happened to me every day, even if my day wasn’t particularly great.
So I was not planning on including a goals spread this month. I was going to go straight from highlights to my editorial calendar, but my notebook didn’t agree with me, and I ended up accidentally skipping a spread. Rather than waste two whole pages, I figured I’d just create a new spread, and this is what I came up with. I’m actually quite glad I messed up!
The left side is a goals page, complete with plant doodles. I’ll list my goals for the month underneath the plants and maybe inside the polaroid. (I haven’t decided yet.) I recently read a really great post about self care on Boho Berry (you can read it here), so I thought it might be useful to use the bottom half of this page to map out some of my ideas related to that.
The other half of my accidental spread consists of a tbr (to be read) list and a list of movies/tv to watch for the month. I don’t usually use pages like these, but I have a couple of advanced reading copies I need to get to this month and I thought a monthly tbr might help with that.
Last but not least, here is my blog planner for the month of May! If you’re curious about how I use this spread, check out my post about bullet journal spreads for bloggers—this particular layout is #4 on the list.
What do you have planned for your bullet journal for May? What do you do when you make a mistake in your bullet journal like I did this month?

Think it’s the colour I was going to use for my May spreads (though I ended up getting Crayola markers to use instead)

Crayola markers are great! They’re kind of underrated since they’re generally considered “kid’s markers,” but they work really well!

Yeah, they really do work great. I wanted to build up a good selection of colours for my planner but I can’t afford that many Tombows (50 Crayola markers or three Tombows :D)

I totally know what you mean, Tombows are ridiculously expensive
