My Nominations for the 2020 Book Blogger Awards

This is the first positive sentence with the word ‘2020’ in it that I’ve seen in a long time!

Seriously, I am really excited that it’s time for fourth annual Book Blogger Awards, hosted by May @ Forever and Everly and Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books, because there are so many incredible bloggers that I can’t wait to celebrate.

(So many, in fact, that I couldn’t possibly fit everyone into this post, so know that even if you’re not listed here, all of you are amazing.)

This year, the organizers are asking that posts include at least 1/3 small bloggers (<500 followers), which I tried to do as best as possible, but it’s not always easy to find follower counts so I wanted to include a disclaimer that my ratio may not be perfect!

Also please note that I haven’t nominated someone for every category, so please check out the original posts (linked above) for the full list of categories.

With that said, it’s now time for me to share my nominations for this year’s awards!

Best of Their Age

Best Pre-Teen/Teen Book Blogger (13-19)

Purely Olivia blog logo

My nomination for this first award goes to Olivia @ Purely Olivia, who is the sweetest. Also every single one of her posts is just! so good!! It’s nice having a blogging friend to talk about high school with, among many other things, and I love reading her blog so much, so she’s perfect for this category!

Best Adult Book Blogger (20+)

Drizzle and Hurricane Books blog logo

For the adult category, I’m nominating Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books. Marie is so kind and she’s been blogging for a long time, so she’s a staple in the community. In addition to having a fantastic blog, Marie also recently started a bookstagram!

Best of Book Blogging

Best Book Reviews

Books with Chai blog logo

Chaima @ Books with Chai writes legendary reviews. I’ve been following them on Goodreads for a while and just recently followed their blog and their reviews are just so detailed and well-written!!

Best Book Recommendations

Purely Olivia blog logo

I’m nominating Olivia @ Purely Olivia again for this one because she writes fabulous mini review posts and I feel like we have pretty similar taste, so I can always count on Olivia for a recommendation .

Best Discussion Posts

Vicky Again blog logo

Vicky @ Vicky Again (formerly of Vicky Who Reads) started a new blog this year and, just like on her old blog, she posts the most thought-provoking discussions.

Hammock of Books blog logo

Kay @ Hammock of Books is a new favorite blog of mine. I already love her posts, especially her discussions! She wrote a really thoughtful post about Harry Potter, as well as a hilarious review of the cursed Percy Jackson movie.

Best Blog Aesthetic

Marshmallow Pudding blog logo

Chloe @ Marshmallow Pudding is another blog that I found recently, and I am in LOVE with both her posts and her blog design. Just look at how adorable her logo is!!

Best Blogging/Writing Voice

Paper Fury blog logo

Cait @ Paper Fury is a blogging QUEEN. She was one of the first book bloggers I followed and I continue to love her distinct blogging voice.

Miscellaneous

Most Helpful

Read By Tiffany blog logo

Tiffany @ Read By Tiffany has an incredible blog, and one of my favorite aspects of her blog is how helpful her posts are—specifically, I still remember her college posts from a while ago, which I found so useful as someone who is getting ready to apply to colleges.

Most Supportive

Sprinkles of Dreams blog logo

Lily @ Sprinkles of Dreams is the sweetest, kindest person. She’s such a good friend and it would be impossible for me to not nominate her for this award. 🙂

Most Engaged in the Community

Forever and Everly blog logo

May @ Forever and Everly has an incredible blog (one of my absolute favorites) and she is also one of the most engaged members of the book community, what with co-hosting these awards, as well as making great content on Goodreads, bookstagram, and Twitter

Most Creative

My 1st Chapter blog logo

May @ My 1st Chapter is so sweet and makes such cool, creative art for her blog! This book cover recreation post was so cool.

I’m also nominating Sophie @ Moon Child Don’t Cry for this one because Sophie makes really cool graphics too and also started a really creative initiative, the Sincerely Created project.

Best Social Media Influencer

BookNerdReads blog logo

Jill @ Book Nerd Reads has been one of my favorite bookstagrammers for FOREVER. She posts such cute pictures and she also has a great blog, which she recently started posting on again.

Best Personality

A Whisper of Ink blog logo

Ilsa @ A Whisper of Ink is another incredible blogger who I’ve been following probably since I started book blogging! Ilsa is so cool and nice and she likes ice cream and Steve Harrington, and if that’s not a great personality then I don’t know what is.

Friendliest Member of the Community

Sprinkles of Dreams blog logo

Ok I already nominated Lily @ Sprinkles of Dreams but I have to add her again because she is just!! So sweet!! And deserves this award for sure.

Best at Promoting Diverse Books

The Quiet Pond blog logo

CW and friends @ The Quiet Pond do such a tremendous job of promoting diverse books, from their routine book news posts featuring diverse book releases and announcements, to their interview series like their recent Pride Month posts. I almost always find a new diverse book rec when I visit the pond! (CW has also put together an incredibly-designed blog with the most adorable characters.)

Most Importantly

Best Overall Book Blogger

Forever and Everly blog logo

There are so many incredible bloggers I could pick for this award, but I have to go with May @ Forever and Everly because I am consistently excited whenever I see her posts in my reader. She has such a great personality, she writes entertaining posts, and her efforts like running these awards show how dedicated she is to this community.
