My Nominations for the 2019 Book Blogger Awards

I love book blogging. There are so many reasons why, from the creative outlet that I get through writing on my blog, to all the fantastic books that I find through blogging, but today’s post is about celebrating one of the most important reasons: all of the wonderful book bloggers that I have the privilege of knowing.

I was so excited when May @ Forever and Everly announced that they’d be hosting the awards this year, because not only is May one of my favorite bloggers, but I’m also so thrilled to have this opportunity to boost a bunch of the hard working, compassionate, and skilled book bloggers that grace us with their presence here on the internet.

Please note that, unfortunately, this post would be way too long if I listed all of the great blogs that I follow, and there are so many other incredible bloggers that I wasn’t able to mention, so even if you weren’t nominated, you’re still amazing!

Also note that I didn’t nominate bloggers for every category, so be sure to check the full list from May’s post (linked above) if you’re going to write your own nominations!

And so, without further ado, I present my nominations for the 2019 Book Blogger Awards!

Best of Their Age

Best Pre-Teen/Teen Book Blogger (13-19)

Purely Olivia blog logo

Olivia @ Purely Olivia is the absolute sweetest, most wonderful human. I could have nominated her for so many of these categories, but I decided to nominate her for best teen blogger because, though I’m sure I would still love Olivia’s blog if she were an adult, it’s really cool to be able to talk to another blogger who’s around the same age as me!

Olivia so deserves this award, because not only is she super kind and engages so much in the community, but she also writes killer posts with great book recs that I’m always super excited to read.

Best Adult Book Blogger (20+)

The Quiet Pond blog logo

I am nominating CW @ The Quiet Pond for this award because her blog is the most clever, artistic, and creative thing that I’ve ever seen. If you haven’t checked out her blog, do so immediately!

The characters that CW draws for her posts are so adorable and unique, and her commitment to the book blogging community is astounding—it is evident in the detailed projects that she works on (book blogger surveys, the YARC challenge, the Hungry Hearts blog tour, etc.), and just in general the effort that she puts into her blog.

Best of Book Blogging

Best Book Reviews

Drizzle and Hurricane Books blog logo

Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books is just generally amazing, but one thing that I particularly enjoy about her blog is her reviews. Marie’s book reviews and mini review posts are so organized and written in a style that is pleasurable for me to read, and I love how she rates all of her books in raindrops (rather than stars), as that’s such a unique, on-brand touch.

Best Book Recommendations

Vicky Who Reads blog logo

Vicky @ Vicky Who Reads is another blogger who could fit into so many categories for these awards, but I think that Vicky is the perfect choice for the book rec award. Not only do I feel like I like a lot of the books that Vicky talks about on her blog, but I also love the detailed recommendation posts that Vicky obviously puts so much time and effort into. (She made a list of 80+ books for Valentine’s Day this year!! I am in awe.)

Best Discussion Posts

A Whisper of Ink blog logo

Ilsa @ A Whisper of Ink was one of the first book bloggers that I ever followed, and I’ve loved reading Ilsa’s posts (especially the discussions, which are cleverly titled “let’s whisper”) ever since. I really appreciate how Ilsa doesn’t shy away from being real and honest, which tbh is something that I aspire to emulate more. A few of my favorite discussions that Ilsa has written include this one about whether or not we love the content we create and consume, and this one about being genuine in book reviews. (Also, idk if this counts as a discussion post, but this guide to getting ARCs was SO helpful, like wow.)

Best Blog Aesthetic

Forever and Everly blog logo

May @ Forever and Everly is another blogger who could really fit for any of these awards, but I’m nominating them for the blog aesthetic award because May’s flowery blog design is just SO BEAUTIFUL. All of their graphics are amazing, and May is also just a really nice person who writes fantastic blog posts and has such a great personality.

(Btw some of May’s graphics were made by Madeline @ Twirling Pages, who is also really amazing!)

Best Blogging/Writing Voice

Paper Fury blog logo

100% I have to go with Cait @ Paper Fury for this one! I’m pretty sure Paper Fury was the first book blog I followed ever, and I’m so glad that Cait was my introduction to the book blogging world. Cait is so funny and I just love reading everything that she writes (on both her blog and in real published novels). Every single one of Cait’s posts is so much fun to read because her blogging voice is so unique.

Most Engaged in the Community

Drizzle & Hurricane Books blog logo

I’ve been trying to name different bloggers for each award, but I just have to nominate Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books once again, and I’m pretty sure that literally everyone else is going to be nominating Marie for this award. She comments all the time and is just so kind and wonderful!!

Best Social Media Influencer

BookNerdReads blog logo

I’m nominating two bloggers for the social media category, Jill @ Book Nerd Reads and Alexandra @ Twirling Pages.

Jill’s bookstagram account is GOALS (and one of the first bookstagrams I ever followed!), and all of my interactions with her have been so lovely and she’s just so sweet.

Alexandra also has an amazing bookstagram, and she has a Youtube channel as well. I don’t follow many Youtube channels, but Alexandra’s is one of the few that I watch consistently and love, and all of her videos are so nice and relaxing.

Best Personality

I’m going to nominate Emma @ Emma Reads for this award because she is the absolute funniest blogger EVER. I just love her blogging voice and reading her posts always make me laugh.

Friendliest Member of the Community

Sprinkles of Dreams blog logo

There are so many people who I could put for this category, but I’m going to nominate Lily @ Sprinkles of Dreams because ever since I met her right around when she started blogging, she has been such a wonderful ray of sunshine and I feel so lucky to know her. Not only is she the sweetest, but she also writes wonderful blog posts and has a super pretty blog and is just all-around amazing!

Best at Promoting Diverse Books

The Quiet Pond blog logo

Okay so like I said earlier, I’ve been trying to pick a different blogger for each award in order to spread as much appreciation as possible, but I have to nominate CW @ The Quiet Pond again because she is the perfect pick for this award. CW does so much to support so many different people, and I really admire her commitment to diverse books.

Most Importantly

Best Small Book Blogger (under 1,000 followers)

Purely Olivia blog logo

When I was looking for bloggers who would fit the requirements for this award, I was happy to find that many of the bloggers I know have surpassed the 1K mark! Olivia @ Purely Olivia hasn’t yet, but I’m sure she will because, like I said earlier, she is absolutely wonderful and deserves all the followers!

Best Overall Book Blogger

Vicky Who Reads blog logo

There are so many bloggers whom I could nominate for this award, but I have to go with Vicky @ Vicky Who Reads because she consistently puts out content that I love reading—I always get so excited when I see one of her posts in my reader!—and is just generally super sweet and lovely. Vicky works so hard and does so much for the community and she 100% deserves this award!
