A book world you would put yourself in

I mean, I would be lying if I said the book I would most want to be inside was anything other than Harry Potter. The wizarding world would be amazing to experience!

The Schuyler Sisters
An underrated female character

Everyone always talks about Hermione Granger (which makes sense, she’s my favorite too!), but Ginny Weasley is another fantastic HP character. She’s an amazing quidditch player, she makes friends with Luna even though everyone thinks she’s weird, and she stays at Hogwarts and helps bring back the DA when Harry is off finding horcruxes.

My Shot
A character who goes after what they want

Evelyn Hugo, absolutely, from The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Evelyn is such a fantastic, complex character who will do whatever it takes to reach her goals.

Sassiest Villain

Hmm, sassy is a little specific…I guess I’ll go with Count von Viscount of the Ruby Redfort series, the genius criminal mastermind with a flair for the dramatics.

Non-Stop
A series you marathoned

I’m not sure I can think of a series that I marathoned, but I definitely read all of the Keeper of the Lost Cities books super fast—of course, not all of them have been released yet, but I always try to get my hands on a copy of the new books as they come out and speed through them as quickly as possible! (Which is bittersweet, because then I finish and I’m sad because I have to wait a whole year for the next book.)

Favorite book with multiple POVs

I feel like I’ve probably read a bunch of multi-POV books, but I’m going to go with Queens of Geek. Taylor and Charlie were both fantastic characters and I loved reading from both of their perspectives.

Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story
A book that will be remembered throughout history

The Hate U Give, 100%. Not only has THUG been incredibly popular (both within the book community and outside in the larger world), but I also think it’s one of the most important and impactful books that have been published recently.

Lara Jean and Peter from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. I was on Team Peter from the start!

What Comes Next
A series that you wish had more books

I adore the Ruby Redfort series, and would be happy to read many more books about my favorite teenage code-cracker, but alas, the series has ended after six wonderful installments.

What’d I Miss
A book or series that you were late to reading

Although relatively speaking, a few years is not very long, I feel like I was pretty late to the party where Six of Crows is concerned. Everyone on the bookish internet flails about this book constantly, and though I was late, I am now ready to join everyone in flailing.

The Reynolds Pamphlet
A book with a plot twist that you didn’t see coming

Catching Fire—I can remember finishing The Hunger Games in fifth grade and being like “the games are over, like, what could the next book be about?” I was so surprised when the Capitol announced the special anniversary thing in the second book.
