Happy almost spring! I’m still waiting for nice weather. 😉 Today, I’m super excited to be linking up with Top Ten Tuesday to talk about books I can’t wait to read this spring. There are sooo many young adult books coming out soon, so it was hard to pick just ten!
Children of Blood and Bone technically already released (March 6th) but there is SO much hype surrounding it and it sounds so fantastic that I had to include it! It’s a West African-inspired fantasy, it’s gotten rave reviews, and if you don’t have it on your tbr already, what are you doing??? Tyler Johnson Was Here (March 20th) is a contemporary dealing with police brutality. It also sounds fantastic! And it has an absolutely gorgeous cover—I don’t usually like covers with people on them, but this one was done really well. It looks like it was influenced by Kehinde Wiley, my favorite artist!
I was lucky enough to be able to read an advance copy of The Way the Light Bends (March 27th), and it was fantastic! I’ll be posting my review of it next week, so keep an eye out for that! I have something super special planned. 😉 (Update: You can read my review and interview with the author here!) Emergency Contact (March 27th) has been getting great early reviews. I don’t know too much about it other than it’s set in a college and has Asian rep. Also the cover is gorgeous!
Amelia Westlake (April 2nd) is a feminist f/f romance set in a boarding school, and I am so here for that! I love reading about feminist characters. I am super duper pumped for Leah on the Offbeat (April 24th)! It’s a spin-off about Leah from Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda. Speaking of which, I cannot wait to see the movie!
Girl Made of Stars (May 15th) is about family and rape culture and it has LGBTQ+ rep and it just sounds fantastic! Anger is a Gift (May 22nd) is about social justice and has a ton of diversity. Plus another awesome cover!
From Twinkle, With Love (May 22nd) is the next novel from new YA sensation Sandhya Menon. I adored When Dimple Met Rishi and can’t wait for this one. Jen Wilde’s Queens of Geek was one of my favorite books of 2017, so I have high hopes for The Brightsiders (May 22nd).
I was thinking about adding On the Come Up too since I am SOOO excited for it! But I’ll save that for summer since it comes out in June. In case you missed it, we now have a cover! See it here. (Update: Unfortunately, the publication of On the Come Up has been postponed until February 2019. cries)
What upcoming releases are you excited for? Have you seen Love, Simon yet? What did you think??? (No spoilers please.) I am DYING to see it! Tell me in the comments.
